In the News: How a Lighting Showroom Sparks Branding Ideas

We recently had a chance to talk to our friend Loreto Cheyne of Lola Design about our showroom at our head office

This week I had the pleasure of visiting Rimikon’s showroom on Leeds Ave. Suzanne Cyr showed me around, and this visit was a great learning experience.

Suzanne took the time to show me around, tell me about the company, the products, and how they can benefit both businesses and residential customers. Rimikon specializes in LED lighting solutions that are extra low voltage. They provide products for residential, commercial and industrial applications. I was blown away by how attractive and easy to use their lighting panels are-and really, all their products.

Add to that the fact that they’re environmentally responsible and extremely energy-efficient, and it’s a win-win situation.

Their showroom is set up so that the visitor can see exactly how their products would work in a regular home. What caught my eye was the panels that were designed to replace traditional fluorescent tubes. I wasn’t expecting to like them so much! They are light-weight and quite slim. But they come with a secret, which as a graphic designer totally caught my imagination.

The photo shows the square panel with logos all over it. It’s quite ingenious, but these panels can have a printed film applied on top. The samples that I saw were for special events were sponsors were being acknowledged.

Suzanne explained that the logos (or any other branding message for that matter) can be printed, and applied on top of the light panel. Once lit, it looks like a digital display, but has the added advantage that it can be changed at any time, and is portable. I love that their technology can be used to help my clients.

If you are an interior designer, builder, architect or deal with energy-saving lighting technology, check out www.rimikon.com and their great products.
